英国で行われた統一地方選挙で、スコットランド議会選挙では独立を掲げるＳＮＰが議席を伸ばし（46議席から何と23増！）とうとう過半数を獲得（69／129）しました。
内訳をみると73の小選挙区で53議席を獲得し、8つの地域で56の議席を按分する方はその仕組がよく分からないのですが、9減らして16議席。おそらく選挙区の死票も加味した比例代表なのかもしれません。何でもこうした制度はどうやっても労働党が勝てるように仕組まれたものである、というようなことをＢＢＣで言っておりました。

ＢＢＣ夕方6時のニュースで、キャスター氏曰く「有権者は独立を認めた訳ではなく、あくまで独立を問う住民投票の実施を認めたもの」。その通りでしょうがキャメロン英首相は「英国に留めるべくあらゆる努力をする fight with every fiber to keep Scotland in the Union 」と言っているようです。
住民投票が平和裡に行われスコットランドの英国からの独立が認められれば、これは大変な事態になりますね。
